Two baby showers, one Saturday.
Picture two hosts. Same guest list, same pale-blue theme, same Saturday afternoon.
One served a sheet cake from the store, the kind everyone has eaten at a hundred showers. It was fine. Nobody mentioned it.
The other set out French macarons in the blue of the invitations. Small, delicate, a little taste of Paris, no flight required. Guests kept drifting back to the table.
Same guests, same blue. One dessert got eaten. The other got talked about.
